The Truths Hidden by CIA Recruitment Propaganda
Individual Americans find success & comfort working to terrorize millions of others
One of the most prolific terrorist organizations in world history, the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), has spewed forth from the bowels of its public relations and recruitment sectors a short video series titled “Humans of CIA.” Were one to attempt to satirize the short video features from the CIA, not a thing would need be changed (still, we recommend watching Blaire Erskine’s hilarious parody below).
In one video feature, a CIA employee wearing a t-shirt showing a raised Brown fist much in the style of Brown and Black liberation groups that the CIA has spent years spying on, and reading “Mija you are worth it”, quotes Zora Neale Hurston, and praises her Latin immigrant parents, brags about her own multilingual, singing, and diaper-changing skills. “I am a woman of color. I am a mom. I am a cis-gender millennial who has been diagnosed with generalized anxiety disorder.”
Let’s leave aside that she lists having the most societally-accepted gender identification as some sort of badge of honor or inclusion in a marginalized group, or that she lists her diagnosis of the most common, most easily treated anxiety disorder with the all the gravity of announcing she had schizophrenia.
“I am intersectional…I refuse to internalize misguided patriarchal ideas of what a woman can or should be…My parents left everything they knew and loved to expose me to opportunities they never had. Because of them I stand here today a proud, first generation Latina and officer at CIA.”
She proudly works for the state-sponsored terror organization involved in the murder, torture, terrorizing and rape of millions of Latin American people in support of our patriarchal capitalist system but claims victory over the patriarchy. She also wants us to be inspired that her parents left behind a region where CIA and US military-trained and American funded Death Squads did and still do rain down terror on Latinos daily, just so she could end up helping the CIA as it continues to back violent coup attempts in Latin America.
In another video feature, a librarian working for the CIA gives a tour of book stacks and details some of the ways he assists the organization. The CIA puts no small amount of effort recruiting librarians, which a group of librarians has protested vigorously.
The Library Journal reports on a statement from library workers protesting the CIA’s presence as recruiters at a national conference of the American Library Association. “The CIA has participated for decades in the violent overthrow of governments while propping up dictators all over the world. The CIA believes in absolute secrecy for itself, but total surveillance for all others. The CIA makes use of ultra-secretive 'black sites' to conduct torture and extrajudicial detention. We need not list their entire history to show that library workers should not be associated with them, that the CIA's actions are incompatible with the values of librarianship,” the statement reads.
An earlier open letter opposing CIA recruitment at Library conferences read “The core values of librarianship set forward by [American Library Association] Council include democracy, privacy, social responsibility, and access.(1) The CIA is opposed to all of these things, most of all democracy.”
There may not be anything worse than someone who literally murders, tortures, and rapes on behalf of the CIA and the U.S. government, but being a librarian for the secretive and repressive agency is about as repugnant as it gets.
In another video feature, a man identifying as gay and as an employee of the CIA raves that he was “stunned” to learn that “inclusion is a core value, here” at the CIA. “Every single person, whatever their gender, gender identity, race, disability, or sexual orientation can bring their entire self to work every day.
While that must feel nice for the White American, the organization he’s bragging about makes it its business to support foreign governments who criminalize homosexuality and free gender expression. Just a quick look around foreign governments with the support of the CIA and the US intelligence and military complex shows a sad pattern of systematic sex, gender, and sexuality repression.
The U.A.E. places serious legal restrictions on both gender expression and women’s rights. Afghanistan outlaws same-sex relationships.
Kuwait outlaws same-sex relationships but doesn’t have laws against domestic violence or sexual harassment, and also allows for husbands to rape their wives by claiming that it is impossible for a husband to rape his wife. Morocco bans same-sex relations, and Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras and other US-backed Latin American countries all impose devastating restrictions on gay people’s rights.
These commercials are appropriately self-centered, and mercenary for the organization they represent – the CIA. They attempt to co-opt the identities of marginalized groups by highlighting the personal enrichment and success of individual employees from those groups within the organization while completely ignoring that their comfort comes at the direct expense of the lives, freedoms, and dignity of millions of others who the CIA helps repress and murder.
Let us not forget the Democratically Government in Iran. Regime change That we desire so much? We want Regime change to the Regime change the CIA.caused with Operation Ajax.
As a young country and physically isolated country our arrogance is astounding. We deny refugees from our drugs entry. We deny refugees from our denial of climate change. We also deny our responsibilities due to
