Call Them Liars, Steal Their Money
Tara Reade discusses the marginalization of and theft from independent journalism
Political analyst Tara Reade recently opined on two important and related issues - the marginalization of independent journalism by corporations closely tied to our federal government, and that same pathologically deceitful federal government recently establishing an Orwellian Ministry of Truth type department to help further propagandize us and turn us against one another.
“The Biden administration claims that there’s just no money for domestic programs and infrastructure or covid relief although there seems to be an endless amount of dollars [for] weaponry [and] the military-industrial complex. Although they did do something domestically. The Homeland Security Department set up a [Disinformation Governance Board]. And, to head up that board? None other than Nina Jancowicz,” Reade says, below.
Jancowicz, of course, has in the past claimed that Presidential son Hunter Biden’s scandalous and verified as quite real laptop, was actually just a figment of Donald Trump’s imagination. Jancowicz has also called Wikileaks, which has yet to publish a story that needed retraction and which has exposed some of the biggest scandals of the past two decades, “scum,” and also helped the CIA with regime-change operations.
“They’re going to decide, for us, what is…disinformation,” Reade warns.
While outlets and journalists who dare to propagate narratives that run counter to the lies that the American empire are slandered by our government they are also now having their abilities to make a living damaged by some of the large corporations our government works closely with.
“There are many ways to silence speech. There’s de-platforming, there’s censoring, banning, and of course demonetizing,” Reade says in the commentary video, below.
Payment processing giant Paypal has recently done a bit of demonetizing of independent outlets and journalists, which is especially problematic because it is used by many independent outlets and independent media members. Recently banned outlets and people include Mintpress News and Alan MacLeod.
Mintpress is an indispensable site that reports on international affairs, and MacLeod is one of the best academics and journalists writing about propaganda in the English language.
I happen to teach two of McLeod’s books, “Bad News From Venezuela,” and “Propaganda in the Information Age,” in my Critical Journalism college course. I highly recommend both.
“No explanation was given, but what all of these voices have in common is that they’re anti-imperialist and they’re pushing back on the Western narrative of what is going on geopolitically,” Reade reasons.
“There was no indication from Paypal when they would get their money back or if they would get their money back. Or, why the ban was put into place in the first place, or who decided to do that.
“If you don’t support the military-industrial complex, well the empire will just go into your pocket and take that money.”
